What Others Say
Amazing place
May 2026
This is an amazing place up high in the hills where you first meet with a remarkable person managing the whole place with equally amazing staff.
Everything from the food, service and people are top notch.
Aside from the bumpy ride to get to the top, once you reach the place, you wouldn’t want to leave!
It truly is a place to detox, and to connect with the peaceful centre of your being,
Thoughtfully curated wellness
May 2026
My stay at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary was one of the most thoughtfully curated wellness experiences I’ve ever had. It is not just a luxury hotel, but a place that truly integrates healing, culture, and Bhutanese hospitality in a very intentional way.
What stood out immediately was the level of personalisation. The traditional Bhutanese TCM doctor consultation felt deeply considered and grounding, and it shaped the entire wellness journey during the stay. The tea menu was extensive and beautifully aligned with different needs throughout the day, making something as simple as tea feel like part of a healing ritual.
The therapy offerings were exceptional and genuinely immersive. From moxibustion, hot stone massage, to sound healing sessions, each experience felt purposeful rather than performative. Beyond the therapies, the cultural and experiential activities made the stay even more memorable. The momo dumpling cooking class was fun, hands-on, and surprisingly intimate, giving a real sense of Bhutanese home-style cooking. There were also activities like archery and pottery, which added a playful yet grounding layer to the experience.
What really touched me were the small but thoughtful gestures. The team prepared a lunch basket for our outing to the Paro festival, and even packed breakfast pastries for our early hike to Tiger’s Nest. The food for lunch is a 4 course meal and dinner 6 course (western style) with fresh ingredients catered for vegeterians. On the last day we requested for Bhutanese cuisine and it was delightful.
A special mention must go to the General Manager, Soh. Her leadership is quietly felt throughout the property in the most refined way. There is a rare sense of calm, consistency, and genuine hospitality that shapes the entire experience. Nothing feels generic or transactional — instead, everything feels intentional, personal, and deeply considered.
We cannot wait to return again!
Beautiful hotel
May 2026
This is one of the most beautiful hotels in Bhutan. The food and the focus on health is terrific and a wonderful way to understand Bhutanese culture. The location and the rooms as well as the spa services are terrific.
Glimpse of Bhutan
April 2026
My visit to Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary on the 6th of March, experiencing the “Glimpse of Bhutan” programme, has become one of my most cherished and lasting memories. Every element of the journey felt truly exceptional, from the beautifully designed facilities within the resort to the breathtaking scenery of Paro, which provided a constant sense of calm and wonder.
What made the experience even more remarkable was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Their genuine kindness and willingness to accommodate every request created an atmosphere that felt both personal and effortless. The resort offers a wide range of thoughtfully curated activities, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Bhutanese culture, from traditional spa treatments and therapeutic massages to archery and other local experiences.
A particularly memorable part of my stay was the opportunity to explore Bhutan with a dedicated guide. I had the pleasure of being accompanied by Mr. Sonam Tobgyai Dorji, whose knowledge, professionalism, and sincere care elevated the entire journey. His insights into the culture, landscapes, and hiking routes added great depth to the experience, and his constant support ensured that every moment in Paro felt meaningful and complete.
Overall, my time at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary was exceptional in every sense. The combination of serene surroundings, enriching activities, and heartfelt hospitality made it truly unforgettable. The only preparation I would recommend is being physically ready, as some of the hiking routes can be quite challenging, but they are absolutely worth it. Beyond that, there is nothing to worry about, only a journey waiting to be experienced and remembered.
