Hiking to the Tiger’s Nest in January

Some places feel strangely familiar before you’ve even been there. The Tiger’s Nest Monastery was like that for me, due to the many times I’d seen it in photos. Even still, standing there in the clear January sun felt entirely different. The mountain air was sharp, the light warm, and for the first time it felt real rather than just another beautiful image.
